Jan Gemrot

25/10/2017 - 14/11/2017

The works of Jan Gemrot are a synthesis or psychological excursion into the problems of contemporary society. Gemrot approaches the themes of images with a realistic or rather hyper- realistic expression, sometimes interrupted by a more expressive style. Through a particular visual element, he attempts to express feeling and atmosphere, that are difficult to grasp, and his paintings have a strong psychological effect. With his brilliant artwork he develops a story in which one can always find something unspoken. The urgency of his artistic testimony is immeasurable. The interconnection of masterful painting  together with intense and shocking content and along with conceptual thinking, puts Jan Gemrot to one of the leading positions of the young Czech contemporary art scene.
